Archaeozoological Lab

logo Zooarchaeological LabThelab was established in 2011 and at the Institute for Pre- and Protohistory and is under the direction of Cheryl Makarewicz. It supplies researchers of Archaeozoology a room for interaction and - induced by the close collaboration with ASIL and the aDNA lab of the university - the possibility to develop a creative, multi-disciplinary research approach. The lab regularly offers courses in Archaeozoology and has a large reference collection of European fauna, that complements the large collection of the zoological institute. At the moment the reference collection of the lab is being expanded to include species of the South West Asian area.
